Even if we are now in this technology-driven world, nothing can beat a personalized way of expressing your love and care through heart-melting, heart-touching and sincere messages to your special someone. Writing and sending love letters may have been a thing of the old, but it would still be the simplest, yet, the sweetest way of showing importance to someone you love. Whether you are a man or a woman, it shouldn’t be a hindrance for you to say “I love you” to this special person.
If you are not a great writer but wants to be as romantic as Romeo to your Juliet, here are some tips on how to write a love letter.
Start off with a sweet salutation
Examples of these could include “To My Beloved ___” or “To My One and Only __”. It could be anything that you would want to call on that special someone of yours for as long as it is not that conceited.
Write down your purpose
Why are you writing a love letter? It could be something like, “I am writing you this letter to let you know that I am truly thankful that you have come in to my life.” Writing your purpose could let that person be aware of what are your intentions really are in writing that letter and avoid misleading him/her by only assumptions.
Remember a memorable past together
Try to recall a romantic memory of you being together. Writing this down at the start of your letter is a good way to immediately create a connection between you and that person you love. It unconsciously gives the reader an emotion of joy, excitement and at the same time, a good amount of flattery, knowing that you have recalled an old memory that must have been important for you.
Write down what you like most about that person
Being able to clearly tell what captured you most about that person is a good way of showing every little thing that person does is valuable for you. It may just be physical characteristics, attitude or simple gestures that have caught your eye. Being able to show that person that you appreciate him/her will make them more fall in love with you more.
Be honest on your letter
Somehow, that person you are writing a letter to, must have made a big change in your life. Telling that in a letter can be perceived in a positive or negative way. Don’t over sell yourself to make you lovable. Just be honest on what you really feel and you won’t come out impressing too much.
Talk about the future
Letting that person know your plans in the future including him/her in it is a very romantic way of letting that person know that he/she is now part of your life. It could be sharing about your future travels around the world, career paths and settling down in the near future.
Writing a love letter is not that hard. Remember, you just have to be yourself and express what you really feel about that person. Once you get the hang of it, it will be easier and more natural to the person reading that personal heart touching love letter of yours.
